James White Drinks were awarded the Gold Level Carbon Standard for our continued commitment to reducing emissions and championing the environmental agenda.
The Carbon Charter is awarded to organisations that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions. It is intended to provide public recognition of this vital step to our shared goal of Creating the Greenest County.
The Panel were very impressed by James White Drinks’ continued drive to cut emissions and work more sustainably. They noted in particular that all recommendations from previous audits had been implemented and evidence of a genuine commitment to net zero and Scope 3 Management and reduction.
The Charter is about continual environmental improvement. The Panel identified the following recommendations as priority actions to investigate:
Reduce emissions by a minimum of 10% over two years (5% per year), prioritising your fuel use (gas oil, burning oil, and LPG gas) as these make up the majority of your emissions.
- Consider EVs, ASHPs, and electric forklifts.
- Continue to drive down grid electricity use and consider installing more solar PV onsite.
- Start monitoring your staff commuting mileage, waste streams, and delivery/courier emissions.
