For us, making brilliant juices and non-alcoholic drinks starts with using carefully selected natural ingredients and being confident in bold, distinctive flavours. That focus has shaped everything we do since the very beginning.

In 1989, Lawrence Mallinson acquired the assets of a former Suffolk cider company. Starting with a range of single-variety English apple juices including Bramley, Cox and Russet, the business has grown steadily over the years into a well-established fruit and vegetable juice producer. We have been based at Whites Fruit Farm in Ashbocking, Suffolk since 1992.

Big Tom, our spicy tomato juice, was launched in 1997 and has built a strong and loyal following over time. In 2002, Big Tom was granted a Royal Warrant by HM The Queen, recognising its quality and provenance. Building on this heritage, Big Tom Ketchup was launched in 2020.

We began producing organic beetroot juice in 2005, later rebranding the range as Beet It. Since 2008, Beet It has been involved in a wide body of academic and sports performance research exploring dietary nitrate naturally present in beetroot juice. This research has informed the development of our Beet It concentrated beetroot juice products for sport and active lifestyles.

Since 2010, Beet It Sports products have been chosen by a growing number of professional and elite athletes around the world.

In 2011, we acquired the Thorncroft cordial business. Thorncroft is recognised as one of the UK’s early elderflower cordial brands and continues to produce a range of hedgerow-inspired cordials, including Rosehip, Wild Nettle and its Herbal Liquorice, also known as Dandelion and Burdock.

Our newest addition is Zinger Shots, a range of small but punchy drinks designed to deliver a bold burst of flavour and a real zing for the taste buds.

Alongside our extensive range of James White organic and classic fruit and vegetable juices, we are also home to Big Tom spicy tomato juice, Beet It beetroot juices and sports nutrition products, and a growing portfolio of distinctive drinks made in Suffolk.

James White Drinks Ltd does not conduct, fund or commission any research involving laboratory animals. Beet It shots are used in medical research as a natural source of dietary nitrate, and research ethics committees have approved for Beet It shots to be used for human trials without completing animal trials first. We encourage all third-party scientists who use Beet It shots in their research to avoid using animals in laboratory experiments.
